Duane: Oh Tân’si Vince, Nimwî nântaw, miyo kîk’sîpâyâw, - Oh hello Vince, I'm OK, a nice morning, 

Vince: Tâpwî mâka miyo kîk’sîpâyâw, tântî êkwa? - for sure it is a nice morning, where are you going? 

Duane: Nimwî nântaw sôskwâc, - No place at all 

Vince: Kimiyöyân âtawiya? - are you feeling OK now? 

Duane: Nimiyöyân tâpwî, - Yes I am feeling fine 

Vince: Tâpwî îsa î miyösik î pihtamân iyakwânima, - that is good that I heard that 

Duane: Nîsta mîna nimiyohtîn - me too I am happy! 

Vince: Pihtikwî nidôtîm, - come in my friend. 

Duane: Marrsî - thank you.

Duane: Möc (ni)mwî cîskwa nimîc’son, - No I haven't eaten yet, 

Vince: Lakelet awa kinohtî mowâw? - Do you wanna eat this bannock. 

Duane: Tâpwî laklet na mowâw, - Yes I'll have some bannock. 

Vince: L’tî mâka kindawihtîn? - Do you want some tea? 

Duane: L’tî mîna naminihkwîsin, - Yes I'll have a little bit of tea, 

Vince: Iyakwânima êkotî hî, î osihtamâtân, l’vårr l’tî iyakwânima, - There it is over there look, I made it for you, that is green tea. 

Duane: Tâpwî L’vårr l’tî naminihkwân, - Sure I will have drink some green tea. 

Vince: Wihkasin? Wihkit’sô lakelet? - Is it good? Is the bannock good? 

Duane: Oh wihkit’sô laklet, nimiyohtîn î asamiyin - Oh the bannock is good, I'm happy you fed me. 

Vince: Nimwî kayâs ana dâl forrnô ohci î wayawîpitak - it wasn't too long ago that I pulled it out of the oven. 

Duane: Oh kinihtâ pinawason - Oh you're a good cook. 

Vince: î nawaciyân, lafarrin êkwa nipî, êkwa l’sel ap’sis nidastân, êkwa mîna wâwa pahkam - I cooked it, flour and water, and I put a little bit of salt, and eggs I think. 

Duane: Nimwîtikwî ka pihcipôhin? - I hope it don't poison me? 

Vince: Nimwîtikwî, wâtstakâc awa - I hope not, Oh my god this guy.

Duane: Sakitawahk ohci niya, kiya mâka? - I am from my Île-à-la-Crosse (Sakitawahk), how about you?

Vince: Êkwa niyanân Ahenakew êkwa McCallum kî isihkâsôwak nimoshômpan êkwa nohom’pan, - and we are Ahenakew and McCallum were the names of my late grand father and grandmother, 

Duane: Oh tâpwî, nimiyohtîn î nak’skâtân, - Oh yes, I am happy to have met you! 

Vince: Tâpwî mâka - for sure! 

Duane: Kihtwâm kawâpam’tin - I'll see you again sometime. 

Vince: Wâpahki itikwî - Probably tomorrow. 

Duane: Ahpô itikwî âha, mwîstas - Maybe yes, see you later.
